The Rotary Club of Khuree Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
::: The Rotary Club of Khuree

Throughout the last decade Mongolia was undergoing a dramatic and unprecedented transition, which inflicted serious economic crisis and social challenges. These challenges tested our faith in human virtue and benevolence. Amidst the struggle with the difficulties of reviving the crisis-stricken economy there seemed tome could not bereave us, as a nation, of the high human causes and goodwill. The rotary movement in M have been no space left for the altruism and charity. However, the tough tests of the tiongolia is the evidence for this.

::: What does our rotary name mean?

Out of the variety of the suggestion put forward by the, then, provisional club members, we stopped on the two Urguu and Khuree. Our selection focused on for our Rotarians wished to the follow the commonly accepted in the Rotary International community principle of keeping to the name of the place where the given Rotary Club is located. We operate in Ulaanbaatar City of Mongolia. However, since this particular name had already been used by our another Rotary Club, we had to take a brief excurse to history. The Ulaanbaatar city historically was named as Urguu and Khuree. The name 'Khuree' was used more recently then 'Urguu' and it was better known by the general public.
