Background
 
51,2% of Mongolian adults excessively uses alcohol
8% of those people are women
alcoholics is 2,3-5,9 per 1000
in Ulaanbaatar more than 100,000 have
excessive consumption
5000 patients are treated in the Narcology
Center
 
 
Minnesota Model Treatment
 
In 1948 Patrick Kronin firstly used Minnesota model treatment in a practice.
In 1993 Psychopathology and Narcology Center in cooperation with GCS International organization implemented in Mongolia.
Until 2002 this treatment has been involving about 3000 patients and the result was positively 80-85%.
Currently and successfully implemented in around 140 countries.
 
 
Project Objectives
 
Organizing the Alcoholism Recovery Workshop in the province clinical hospitals and conduct the training course for above provinces narcological doctors in new treatment method
To recovery patients who live in those areas
 
 
Outputs
 
At the end of the project at least 200 patients will be recovered
About 60 provincial doctors will learn new alcoholism recovery method
